Regency

There is also my popular Classic Regency Series which began as a tribute to that prolific Regency romance writer, Georgette Heyer.

Classic Regency stories are generally set in the period 1811-20 and depict high society (the haut ton) at play in the social season, principally in London, but also in Bath. Many dinners, routs, assemblies, balls, receptions, plays and operas take place. The young men are skilled riders and carriage drivers and can box, fence, hunt and shoot. They often take a tour of Europe and sow their wild oats with mistresses and light-skirts until ready for a convenient marriage to beget an heir. The young women (or their mothers!) want to snare a rich husband, preferably with a title. Their chances are enhanced by accumulating myriad accomplishments in music, art, dance, conversation etc, before being presented at court and attending a season. Achieving admission to Almack’s, if not an actual engagement, is the height of success, but she must avoid being caught alone with the wrong man in the nooks and crannies of Vauxhall Gardens. The tale may be peppered with unexpected encounters, mistaken identity, disguises and the occasional mystery. There is usually more dialogue than sex.

Here they are, with some of the comments from readers. Available from Amazon on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, paperback and Audible. (Audible covers shown here)
